Stockton FC 0 - Bulkington SS FC 4

Mid table Stockton were brought down to earth by lowerly Bulkington who turned the form book upside down to produce an excellent team performance.

The score line could have been more if not for the Stockton keeper who produced some fine saves to deny a 30 yard effort fron  Aron Formaston and a effort from Paul Castle

Bulkingtons goals came from Shane Hunter 1 Lewis Anderton 2 & James Darleston 1

Alvis Oakwood 2 Bulkington 0

Missed chances cost Bulkington as Alvis took all 3 points to increase there lead at the top of Priemier and leave Bulkington sliding near the drop zone.

Youngster Johnny Payne had two good chances in the first 15mins as Bulkington took the game to Alvis but Alvis gradually took controll of the game to run out worthy winners.

Cowell To The Rescue

Dunlop 1 - Bulkington SS 1

Bulkington started with 6 16yr olds in there starting line up away at Dunlop.

Dunlop game out of the starting blocks at a frantic pace and took the lead after only 10mins but Dayle Oddy was on target 5mins later after some execellent football Arron Formaston, Paul Castle and James Thorpe.

The game then saw both side going close and Bulkington had goal Keeper Lee Cowell to thank after pulling off of 3 to 4 execellent saves to deny Dunlop the 3 points.

Danny Taylor, James Thorpe & Johnny Payne all made good debuts for the Villagers.

Telegraph Cup 2nd Round

Stockingford 1 Bulkington SS 4

Bulkington strolled through to the next round in the Telegraph cup with a 4-1 demolition of Stockingford AA.

Bulkington took the lead after only 10min through Luke Warwood. Bulkington then eased off the pressure and allowed Stockingford back into the game and they made it 1-1 just before the half time break.

The 2nd half started like the 1st with Bulkington in full control and they made it 2-1 through Paul Castle. Luke Warwood was again on target and Kieron Moore then finished off the tie with a 15 yard volley to progress the villagers into the next round.

Bulkington SS 1 Ambleside 1

Bulkington kicked off with the wind in there faces and from the start they had there visitors under pressure but were unable to create any decent chances and never really troubled the Ambleside keeper. But against the run of play and the visitors 1st decent attack they took the lead after a mistake between the Bulkington keeper and a defender and the half ended with Ambleside having the advantage.

The 2nd half started with Bulkington again having all the posession but unable to create any clear cut chances but with 15mins to go youngster Luke Worwood drilled home from 20 yards after the away defence failed to clear.

The goal sparked Bulkington into life and they pressed forward in numbers in search of the winner with James Jiggy Darleston going close and Chock Addock hitting the bar but the visitors hung on and the points were shared.

Manager Craig Formaston was dissapointed after having 80% of the play but were still unable to collect all 3 points but he did have praise for the back four who have impresed for the last 3 games,

 

 

Bulko Chop The Woodlands Down!!!

Bulkington SS 2 - Woodlands WMC FC 1

Bulkington Sports won the local bragging rights by defeating Div 1 side Woodlands in the Telegraph Cup i a scrappy game at Bulkington Village.

Bulko went in front through Paul Castle after good work by Dale Oddy and they could have increased there lead further if Jiggy Darlestone had not wasted his one on one with Nick Sephton the Woodlands keeper. The miss prompted Woodlands into life and had Bulkington under pressure and they were rewarded when a looping effort some how found the net to bring the half time  score 1-1.

The second half saw scrappy play from both sides and either side were able to break the dead lock as extra time loomed.

The dead lock was broken in the 2nd period of extra time through James Jiggy Darleston who hit a rocket into the bottom corner after good work again from Dayle Oddy. Woodlands did have a chance to bring the tie all square but Bulko keeper pulled off a execellent save to deny the woodlands.

Rich Bent was introduced for Bulkington with 10mins left on the clock and his strong physical presence had the Woodlands back four in panic mode and he also had goal ruled out for being off side, and the ever improving youngster Luke Worward hit the woodwork in the closing stages.

Manager Craig Formaston was pleased with the result who now go into the quater final draw.

 

 

Bulkington March On In Vase

Bulkington SS 2 - Stretten Utd 0

Bulkington Sports progressed into the next round of the Birmingham Vase with a 2-0 nill away win at Stretten Utd from Burton.

Goals from Shane Hunter and James jiggy Darleston secured the win for villagers after they had Stretten on the back foot for most of the 1st half, but the 2nd half saw Stretten a stronger attacking force and put the Bulkington defence under lots of preasure but they could not break through  with the back four of Formaston, Oddy, Castle and Hobson standing firm to keep the home side at bay.

Manager Craig Formaston was pleased with the result but stressed more improvments must be made if they are to continue in future rounds but said this was a much better team performance.

 

 

Poor Defending & Missed Chances Cost Bulkington

Bulkington SS 3 -  Hawksmill FC 5

Coventry Charity Cup

Bulkingtons passage into the next round of the Charity Cup was halted away at Hawksmill going down 5-3 in a scrappy game. Poor defending & poor finishing cost Bulkington dear.

Bulkington were gifted a life line on 20mins when Shane Hunter converted a penalty but a mistake by Paul Castle handed back the lead to Hawksmill on the stroke of half time.

The second half started with Hawksmill scoring at will and soon raced into a 5-1 lead within 15mins of the restart.

Bulkington managed to pull two back through Mark Hobson and more chances were created but the chances were wasted through por finishing and the game ended 5-3 to Hawksmill in a game Bulkington would rather forget.

Manger Craig Formaston admitted he made a mistake when opting for the 4-3-3 formation which resulted in the villagers unable to get enough players back defending when Hawksmill attacked.

Telegraph Cup

Bulkington eased into the next round with a easy 4-0 win against a very poor Stockingford team. Stockingford can count themselves very lucky the score was not into double figures as chance after chance was wasted by the villagers.

Bulkington's goals came from Dayle Oddy, Andy Oddy, Shane Hunter and James ' Jiggy ' Darleston.

 

 

Unlucky Bulkington

Bulkington SS 0 Alvis FC 2

Bulkington SS plsayed there best 45 mins so far this season with a much improved team performance against hige riding Alvis.

Chances were created but were unable to be converted with Bulkington twice hitting the woodwork and the half time score remained 0-0

Alvis started the second half far better than they played the 1st half and soon beganto take full control of the game and went in front in the 50th min. A second goal soon came to clintch all 3 points for the Alvis.

 

Bent To The Rescue

Bulkington SS 3 Stockton 1

Bulkington finally got there 1st 3 points of the season against a hard working Stockton side.

The villagers took the laed on 10 mins through the hard working Dayle Oddy but Stockton made it 1-1 on the 33 mins and went in fron on 44mins.

Harsh words were said at half time and this seemed to do the trick as Bulkington started the 2nd half in a far better attackin mood and drew level through A headed Kierion Moore goal from a James Darleston cross.

Sub Rich Bent was then introdced with 15 mins to go and produced the goods with a well taken goal to clintch the points for the villagers.

Mamager Formaston praised his players for putting in a hard working team display.

 

Grim Day For The Villagers

Bulkington SS 1  Mout Nod Highway 4

Bulkington slipped to there 3rd defeat in a row with another well below par performace.

With some sleek passing Mount Nod soon raced into a 3 goal lead with Bulkington unable to penertrate the Mount Not rear guard.

Mount Nod added a 4th in the 2nd half to put the game well out of reach for the villagers.

Bulkington's goal came from youngster Anderton.

Manager Craig Formaston said that there was some good indvidual performances but they will have to gel as a team for results to go there way.

 

Game Abandoned

Bulkington SS - Stockingford AA

Bulkington SS put in by far there best performace this season and had a 2-0 lead before the game was abandoned on the 70th min mark due to a bad injury to Midfielder Wayne Wicks.

 

Bulkington's Poor Start Continues

Bulkington SS 1 - Witherley Utd 3

Bulkington with several key players missing put in a below par performance away at Witherley. With Witherley's sleek passing and moving off the ball Bulkington were always on the back foot and could have no complaints with the 3-1 result.

Bulkington's goal came from the hard working 16 year old Louis Anderton.

Bulkington started there league campaign away at Folly Lane but went down 3-2 with a poor performance with several players well below there best.
