Bulkington Res 2 Coundon 6

Bulkington Res produced a well below par performance against 3rd placed Coundon to slide down into the relegation zone.

Coundon were always in control in a game that lacked any passion from the villagers and Bulkingtons Managers John Owen & Daz Hirions stressed that Bulkingtons youngsters need to come of age very quickly and produce the standard of football they are more than capable of or Div 4 fottball will be at the village next season.

 Bulkington faced Mount nod for there back to back fixture hoping the continue with the excellent performance from the last meeting but Mount Nod fielded 8 1st team players after there 1st team fixture was postponed.

Bulkington had the better chances early on with Andy Sinclaire going close in the 1st 10mins BUT Mount Nod soon went in front and began to take control of the game and increased there lead to 3-0 at the break.

Two quick goals at the start of the 2nd half put the final nail in the coffin but the never say die attitude that has now been installed into the team Bulkington managed to reply wuth 3 goals to have Mount Nod on the back foot for the remainder of the 2nd half but the experiance of  Mount Nod managed to hold on and collect all 3 points.

Manager John Owen was dissapointed that Mount Nod fielded there 1st team but he was pleased with the performance that the Res produced against the more experianced Mount Nod.

Bulkington 3 - Mount Nod Highwy 3

Bulkington Re produced there best performance of the season when sharing the spoils with Mount Nod.

With new signng Brad added to the back four and Lewis Seymour given a break from 1st  team duties Bulkington raced into a 1st half 3-0 lead with some excellnt football.

The second half however saw Bulkington take there foot off the pedal and allow 2nd place Mount Nod to claw there way back into the game and share the points.

MOM  for Bulkinton was Lewis Seymour.

Bulkington Res 3 - Jaguar Daimler 5

Silly mistakes again cost Bulkington Sports Res away at Jag Daimler.

Kicking into the wind from the kick off, Bulkington were put under intence pressure as Jag pressed forward to try and gain advantage with the wind in there favor and they were rewarded after only 15mins of play when the ball slid under keeper Hassans body form a tame shot from 20 yards. Bulkington went further behind when a defensive mix up allowed Jag to increase there lead.

Bulkington managed to keep the score down until half time and went into the 2nd half 2-0 down.

Bulkington managed to pull a goal back through midfielder Johnny Oddy but again Jag increased there lead and looked to have sealed all 3 points, but the never say die approach of the young Bulkington side manage to make it 3-2 again through Johnny Oddy and again 5mins later Mergim scored to make it 3-3 but Jag Daimlier stepped up a gear and made it 4-3 and then 5-3 with only 5mins left on the clock to collect all 3 points.

Manager John Owen & assistant Daz Hirrions were pleased with the fight back attitude of there young team but stressed that mistakes must be eliminated from there play as giving two goals away is hard to claw back. They also had praise for new siging Curtis Stuart who linked well with youngster Johnny Payne.

 

Bulkington Exit Boyed Carpenter Cup

Bulkington Res 1 - Triumph Ath 4

A very poor 1st half perfornace cost Bulkington a place in the next round of the Boyed Carpenter cup. Triumph pulled all the strings in every dept and never allowed the vilagers any space or time on the ball.

The 1st goal came after 23mins and they made it 2-0 just before half time in a 1st half Bilkington will want to forget.

A stern half time team talk from manager John Owen seemed to have hit home as Bulkington started the 2nd half in a much more commited & organised display which had the Triumph rear guard on the back foot for most of the second half.

Bulkington did manage to pull one back after only 10mins of the restart and Triumph were now on the back fot with Bulkington producing the football they  are more than capable of producing.

Bulkington were awarded a life line in the 70th min when the liverly Andy Sinclaire was brought down inside the box but the resulting spot kick hit the upright which was taken by Danny Taylor. The missed spot kick kick started Triumph into life and with Bulkington pressing forward in numbers in search of the equaliser Triumph caught Bulkington on the counter attack and scored two more goals to secure there passage into the next round.

Manager John Owen stated to the players after the game that they must produce perfomances like thy did in the second half week in week out if they are to stay in the top half of the league.

Last Gasp Winner For Much Improved Bulkington

Bulkington Res 2 - Coventry Uni 1

Bulkington collected all 3 points with a much improved hard working team performance at home to Cov Uni.

Bulkington had the best of the play for the 1st half and could have taken the lead had good chances  not been wasted after having Cov Uni on the back foot for most of the 1st half.

The second half started with Cov Uni getting the upper hand and went in front after Aron Cheshire had failed to clear his lines.

 Bulkington were awarded a pen after a clumsy challange on front runner Rich Bent and the spot kick was converted by youngster Danny Taylor to bring the game all square.

The goal sparked Bulkington into life and had several good chance but they found the Uni keeper in fine form, but the dead lock was broken in the 89th min when forward Lee Oddy slammed home the winner to collect all 3 much deserved points.

Manager John Owen & Daz Hirions singled out new signing 16 year old Mergrim who made is debut and center half Aron Cheshire who had an outstanding game at the back for the villagers and goal keeper Hasan.

 

No Joy Again For Bulko !

Bulkington Res 1 -  Folly Lane 2

Bulko Res again strugled to produe the goods against Foly Lane at Bulkington Rec. With several changes from the previous game, Bulkinton were confident they could collect some much neede points.

The 1st half was even with either side unable to produce any clear cut chances to stillmake it 0-0 at half time.

The second half started with Folly Lane in a determined mood to turn the game in there favor and had the home side defence on the back foot with some dertermined attacking footbal but were still unable to break the dead lock with Bulkington's new keeper Hassan in fine form and his back four of Johny Payne, Danny Taylor, Aron Cheshire and Rich Carmen standing firm.

The dead lock was broken with Bulkington taking the lead with front runner Lee Oddy breaking through and slotting the ball past the advancing keeper, the lead was short lived with Folly Lane snatching one back from a corner kick 2mins later and on the 80th min mark Folly Lane took the lead and end the game 2-1 winners.

Manager John Owen was dissapointed with the result saying that indvidual errors cost Bulkington the points or at least a share of the spoils but also stressed that there was positive improvments from the previous games.

Bulkington Res 0 - Alvis Res 6

 

Res Out Of Telegraph Cup

Bulkington's youngsters crashed out of the telegraph cup in there 1st round clash againgst div 1 side Alvis Res at the village.

Alvis took the lead in the 15th min when the back four failed to clear there lines. Alvis they increased there lead to make it 3-0 at the interval and made it an uphill task for Bulko to get back into the game.

The 2nd half started as the 1st one finished with Alvis in full control and Bulkington unable to get into any stride and it was no supprise  Alvis made the score 6-0 at the final whistle.

Bulkingtons management team of John Owen & Daz Hirions were dissapointed at the result and stressed that individual performances must improve or changes will be made.Alvis were far too strong in all departments and never allowed the youngsters the room or time on thd ball,but the managment team feel with one or two more additions to the team, things will improve.

Res Given A football Lesson At Whitnash

Bulkington were given a football lesson at newly promoted Whitnash going down 8-1. Bulkingtons only goal came from the spot through Andy Sinclair.

Whitnash were far too strong in all deparments for Bulkington.

 

 

  

Sat 13th Sept 2008 V Folly Lane

1st Points For Bulkington.

Bulkington Res collected all 3 points after a good all round performance away at Folly Lane.

The home started well but it was only a matter of time before the villagers started to press and get the upper hand. With full backs Danny Taylor & Johnny Payne supporting the midfield with some nice controlled football Bulkington took the lead through Andy Sinclair.

The second half saw Folly Lane pressing from the start but the back four stood firm.

Bulkington increased there lead through 16 year old Mitch Tompson with a simple tap in from 6 yards to take the match out of reach for the home side.

Manager John Owen & Darren Hirions had special praise for youngsters Johhny Payne, Danny Taylor and Mitch Thomson.

 

 

 

Tue 11th Sept 2008 V Hartshill FC

Bulkington Res 1 - Hartshill FC 5

 

Poor Start For Bulkington 2nds.

 

Bulkington Res started there 1st league game of the season at home against promoted Hartshill.

Fielding several 16 year olds in there line up, Bulkington started well but fell behind after gifting the vistors two sloppy goals to go in at the break 2-0 down.

The 2nd half found Bulkington struggling to to get back into the game and went further behind to make it 3-0 to the vistors. Bulkington did manage to pull a goal back through Andy Sinclair  but again Hartshill increased ther lead to run out worthy 5-1 winners.
